This is a current obsession i’ve found myself involved with. I came across this old publication while sifting through the stacks in the downtown library. This book I picked up was relatively recent (2002) entitled The Tiger’s Eye: The Art of a Magazine, it presents an overview of the art and literature displayed in the magazines run from 1947-1949. Artists like Picasso and Rothko were a part of the same scene as the creators John and Ruth Stephan and became enmeshed in the exciting post war global art happening in New York City.
